July 22nd heralded the welcoming of another precious member to Jesus' family. Delani Terrance Hanson was baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, and I represented John and me as sponsors for the occasion. The entire weekend was a blessing as well, as I got to spend time with much of my close family: all of my parents, brother Brent and Pam and their now THREE children (!), sister Dessie, and Grandma Fran and Grandpa Richard. As always, the weekend sped by unfairly, but I am thankful for the few moments I was given.
Mom picked me up from the airport Friday night, and we stayed up far too late talking about everything. We had coffee and breakfast together the next morning on the patio, and then she went off to work. After a lazy morning spent mostly on my own, Carol and Pam picked me up, and I spent Saturday afternoon and Saturday night at my Dad's house. Brent and Pam went to a friend's wedding, so Dad, Carol, and I got to babysit the older 2 boys as Dessie played along. Sunday brought in the baptism and a large family dinner with David's delicious grilled steaks and chicken. Monday morning we spend shopping for school clothes for Isaiah, as he will be starting Kindergarten this fall!
