Dave and Betsy (John's folks) had this hanging in their kitchen this weekend, and I thought it was a fair assessment of their home as well as a nice reminder of the ideal for which we all should strive.
We spent a weekend together in Hamburg savoring the final moments with Jessica (John's sis) before she returned to college. Jessica, with great alacrity and wisdom, suggested cross-country skiing as our Saturday afternoon activity, and it was awesome! I highly recommend it as a productive yet incredibly fun work-out; I forgot I was exercising.
Sunday evening, after Jessica's departure, we Werners stuck together and attended a jazz concert at Michael's (John's bro) high school. Michael even wowed us with a trombone solo.
John taking advantage of a nice steady slope
Jessica and her friend Carley; no they didn't call each other to plan the outfits!
John looking serious and quite attractive with those skis and poles!
Jess graciously took a break to let me snap a shot
That's alright; you can call me bug girl. I was thankful for the use of Jessica's superb goggles!
And now for a collection of scenery shots...

Much love to you all!
