It has been a tough, long week so far. Like so many other places, we just had a rush of lay-offs at the hospital, necessitating an increased work load on those remaining. There is certainly disappointment and frustration on my mind as I write this, and there is a lot I don't understand. But I am trying to remember my own advice to a friend today -- especially the bit about praying for my leaders and my enemies.
Amidst these last few difficult days, we had a bright spot at 1:30 this afternoon when our little boy's name was legally changed to Benjamin Noah Werner. I wish I could accurately and fully capture the judge's glee over Ben. He wanted to give him candy, he wanted to hold him and get a picture taken, and then HE suggested we all enter the judge's chambers for another photo opp! Okay; interesting and a maybe just a little bit creepy, but overall quite fun and not at ALL what we had expected.
