The Graduate

The final Werner kid has graduated from high school; congrats, Michael! We attended yesterday afternoon and then joined in with family, high school friends, and church and staff members in celebrating Michael's big day. Michael created a wave among his high school friends, all of whom seemed surprised to have something besides turkey sandwiches for the reception meal. Michael's main dish request was Stompf, essentially tator tot hotdish; it's a family favorite and amazingly tasty.

John starts his last week of teaching today. He had his final band performance as part of the school's fine arts concert last Thursday. A few of the pieces he directed were arranged by himself, and the audience appeared to approve. Tomorrow he and his sister Jessica take his 6th grade class on their overnight class trip to Northern Minnesota. John's parents plan to stay the night with me that Tuesday night, just in case I "pop," as John likes to put it, while he is away. Officially, the due date is now less than 3 weeks away (and I am feeling ready!!)

We pray all is well with each of you, and we will keep you updated!
