Snow!

We were surprised with buckets of snow last weekend. Ben and I tromped around in it, made a snow man, and even shoveled twice. He was a huge help! (wink)

Sam stayed nice and cozy inside, gearing up for his new skills of climbing up stairs and pulling to stand. He truly enjoys playing with any of Ben's toys, and we are blessed with a usually very generous big brother who shares!

Halloween

Kahtya taught Ben how to trick or treat on Sunday! Once he learned the ropes, he avidly approached homes, knocked, and even tried to help open doors to hurry along the process. They were adorable!

Random October Pictures

Ben has developed a love of backpacks and hats, mainly because he has a little boy figurine that wears that get-up. He also is into hiding toys in his shirt and then acting surprised when they show up there. The biggest update, though, is that he's progressing with his language. Yippee! He's now using starting sounds for words, sometimes with an extra sound.

Sam is still a thriving, happy baby. His big news is surviving tough love last night. Sam has been waking us up frequently during the night, and last night he had to go through the tough cry-it-out stage. He cried for about 40 minutes and then dropped off to sleep for over 5 hours. It sure felt good to give him a big hug this morning.

Family Fun

We rushed to enjoy the final day of pick your own apples at a local apple orchard last weekend. Crystal joined us briefly and captured a few shots. A wonderful time was had, and Crystal shared her gifts with us, as seen below:
